Political heat rises as Rajbhar promises chief ministerial seat for his community

O.P. Rajbhar sparked a fresh political firestorm on Monday when he declared that Uttar Pradesh would be divided into four parts and that the chief minister from the resulting coalition would be a son of the Rajbhar community. The remark was immediately challenged by Samajwadi Party MP Ram Jai Lal Suman, who warned that such statements could destabilise the social fabric and should be examined by a formal state‑reorganisation panel. Congress’s Surendra Rajpoot went further, insisting that Rajbhar’s comments reflect a betrayal of his own community and demanding that the minister seek professional help. Critics also highlighted that Rajbhar’s earlier promises on tri‑level reservations and police appointments for school‑pass holders have not materialised, raising doubts about his credibility.
