Rajak Counters Accusations Against BJP and Calls for Trust in Party Ideology

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Umar Abdullah accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of offering legislators sums ranging between 20 and 30 crore rupees and promising ministerial ranks to induce party switching. Shyam Rajak responded sharply, stating that Abdullah appears to lack confidence in his own legislators and should instead place trust in the party’s workers and ideology.

Rajak argued that a genuine commitment to a political philosophy discourages defections, because true believers do not abandon their principles for personal gain. He warned that such allegations only fuel cynicism about the political process.

The JD(U) leader also addressed comments made by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who alleged that the Samajwadi Party misused donations meant for temple construction to build mosque walls. Rajak said that if a chief minister makes such statements, there must be some factual basis, and that investigative agencies should be allowed to complete their inquiries before any conclusions are drawn.

Finally, Rajak touched upon the ongoing Bihar Banki‑pur by‑election, noting that the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is aggressively attacking the BJP. He dismissed the RJD’s claims as rhetorical excess, emphasizing that the party’s self‑appointed role as both judiciary and executive exceeds its constitutional mandate.
