Police Seize Leader of Interstate Document Fraud Network, Rs 25,000 Bounty Claimed
In a coordinated raid, the Uttar Pradesh ATS apprehended the mastermind behind a multi‑state counterfeit document syndicate. The accused, residing in Ward‑3 of Rahmanpur, Ragunathganj, Murshidabad, was taken into custody after authorities announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for information leading to his arrest.
The syndicate specialized in forging vital documents such as birth certificates, residence proofs and school diplomas, which were then used to generate fraudulent Aadhaar numbers. Investigators highlighted the gang’s use of VPN technology to bypass security protocols and create illicit login IDs for mass production of counterfeit identity cards.
The suspect will be presented before a magistrate for further detention, and the ATS has said that additional inquiries are in progress to track other members of the ring.
