Police Seize Illegal Firearms After Shooting Encounter in Uttar Pradesh

Firozabad police reported a successful operation on July 12, 2026, after a gun‑battle with two wanted criminals in the north sector of the city. The suspects, who had earlier tried to kill a resident named Abhishek on July 7 in Arya Nagar, engaged the police with a .32‑bore pistol and a metal club.

During the scuffle, one attacker was struck in the leg and required hospitalisation, while the other was apprehended on the spot. A thorough search recovered an illegal .32 pistol, a tamacha, a cartridge, a wooden "khoKha," and a specially modified motorcycle used to transport ammunition.

Authorities identified the injured party as Prince and the captured individual as Sumit, son of Moti Singh, a resident of Linepar. Both have confessed to their role in the attempted homicide. The investigation remains open for two additional suspects who are still at large.
