Police Seize Illegal Arms and Auto in Ghaziabad Shootout

Ghaziabad police, operating with Swat and Surveillance teams, conducted a successful check‑point operation in the Sihaani Gate jurisdiction on August 23. The operation culminated in a gun battle after the criminal gang tried to escape on a motorcycle‑auto combination. Two of the gang members were shot in the legs and were immediately taken to a medical facility.

Authorities seized two unlicensed firearms, their cartridges, two ear‑top devices and the auto that was being used for the unlawful act. The suspects admitted to having participated in several previous street fights and have extensive criminal histories.

The police have launched a man‑hunt for the two fugitives who fled the scene using the darkness. The case is now moving towards formal judicial proceedings, with the injured men receiving hospital care.
