Police Register Case Over ₹5.57 Crore Fraud Involving MP’s PA

Authorities in Mumbai have officially recorded a case against the personal assistant of a Congress parliamentarian, accusing him of a ₹5.57 crore fraud tied to SRA housing rooms. The FIR alleges that the assistant promised prospective tenants official housing slots, collected advance payments, and then supplied falsified allocation notices and forged signatures. The fraudulent documents were allegedly used to mislead applicants about room transfers in areas such as Andheri, Santacruz, Bandra, Kandivali and Matunga. The investigation is proceeding under the Indian Penal Code, with police seeking to uncover the full extent of the racket.
