Police Recover Stabbing Knife and Charge Four in Attempted Murder Case
Delhi police disclosed that a dagger‑shaped knife used in an attempted murder was recovered from the scene after a swift operation lasting less than 14 hours. The incident occurred on the afternoon of July 16 in Kabir Nagar’s C‑Block, where a 24‑year‑old resident was assaulted by a group of four youths.
The victim, identified as Mohammad Sajid, was hospitalized at Jag Prakash Chandra Hospital. His testimony led to the registration of a murder‑attempt case. Inspector Ramesh Kumar Khatri’s special team tracked down the perpetrators using a blend of forensic evidence and neighborhood tips. All four suspects, including a 14‑year‑old minor, were arrested and the weapon was seized.
In their statements, the accused revealed that the attack was motivated by a personal grudge after the victim had slapped one of them days earlier. The suspects – Sahil (18), Najim (21), Kadir (19) and the minor – have no previous criminal records. The investigation continues to explore any wider conspiracy.
