Police Raid Uncovers Massive Stock of Spoiled Food with Fabricated Nutrition Charts
Law enforcement agents, accompanied by food‑safety officials, stormed a warehouse in Okhla and recovered a large quantity of expired food items. The seized stock included soft‑drink cans, powdered meal packs and instant noodles.
Each product bore a genuine manufacturer label topped with a counterfeit sticker displaying a false expiry date and altered nutrition values. The operation exposed a systematic effort to resell spoiled goods as fresh.
The crackdown resulted in multiple arrests, while investigators continue to map out the distribution network that supplies these counterfeit goods to supermarkets, small shops and online platforms.
Officials stressed that the practice endangers public health and called for stricter monitoring of imported food items and their repackaging.
