Police Pursue Arrests After Armed Attack on Forest Department Crew Near Mungavli

The police have confirmed a violent attack on a forest department team in Ashoknagar district and are actively seeking the perpetrators. The assault occurred on Monday near Kiraula village of the Mungavli forest range.

According to officials, the team intercepted a bullock cart carrying illegally harvested timber and began moving it with a tractor. Shortly thereafter, a group of assailants on motorcycles blocked the path and attacked the officials with sticks, stones and axes.

Four individuals were identified as the main attackers, and police have launched multiple search teams to locate and apprehend them. Early reports suggest the suspects may be residents of nearby Jiayagadh village, though their identities have not been officially confirmed.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have promised strict legal action against everyone involved.
