Police Probe Shockingly Violent Killing in Haryana Rental Home

Haryana police are investigating a macabre killing that shocked Kurukshetra residents on August 24. Rajesh, a 40‑year‑old supply‑department employee at a water‑business firm, was discovered dead in a rented flat on Pehowa Road, his body reportedly dismembered by his spouse, Vimla Devi.

According to statements from the landlord, Rinku, a heated argument broke out at about 5 p.m., after which he heard screaming and rushed to the rooftop. There he found Rajesh with critical injuries to his abdomen, blood-soaked and barely alive. Vimla, clutching a bag that contained the victim’s exposed intestines, allegedly fled and leapt from the roof, sustaining injuries that required medical attention.

The post‑mortem report highlighted a 35 cm long abdominal wound, multiple deep cuts suggestive of a sharpened blade, and the loss of sizable sections of the liver and right kidney. Three knives of varying dimensions were confiscated from the premises. Forensic teams collected samples and trace evidence under the supervision of Inspector Surinder Singh.

Investigators are awaiting Vimla’s recorded statement to ascertain the exact sequence of events and motive. The landlord noted that the wife was known to engage in traditional healing practices and often argued with her husband. The marriage, lasting several years, produced no children. Law enforcement is scrutinizing the couple’s history of disputes, financial pressures, and any possible external influences that might have precipitated the brutal act.
