Police Probe Bengaluru Couple’s Deaths Linked to Mobile Reel Fight

Bengaluru law enforcement agencies have launched a detailed probe into the deaths of a married couple whose lives ended in a violent episode tied to a mobile phone reel dispute. The husband, a 38‑year‑old auto‑rickshaw driver named Raghavendra, is accused of killing his 30‑year‑old wife Shruti after a quarrel over her habit of watching short video reels.

Authorities say the argument escalated when the driver allegedly struck his wife with a beer bottle and subsequently stabbed her in the abdomen, causing immediate death. Following the murder, he is reported to have hanged himself inside the same residence.

The police have confirmed that the couple’s two children are currently residing with their grandparents in Davangere. While the reel‑watching habit is being examined as a possible trigger, investigators have not ruled out other underlying domestic tensions. The case remains open, and forensic experts are collecting evidence to piece together the exact sequence of events.
