Police and NGO Joint Programme Highlights Good Touch‑Bad Touch and Online Safety
NEW DELHI, July 5 — A collaborative effort between Delhi Police’s West district and the Anmol Sahara NGO brought a focused safety curriculum to 120 children at the Nirmal Chhaya residence in Tihad. Organized under the Child Safety Awareness Month, the event emphasized teaching youngsters how to identify appropriate and inappropriate physical contact, understand the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and practice basic self‑defence moves.
Representatives from the PMMC wing, along with NGO volunteers, guided children through role‑play scenarios, interactive quizzes and mock emergency calls using helpline numbers 1098 and 112. Special attention was given to digital security, illustrating safe practices on social platforms, protecting personal data, and recognizing cyber‑bullying.
Creative sessions such as painting and storytelling were interwoven to keep the atmosphere engaging while reinforcing the messages. Participants left the venue equipped with practical tools and confidence to protect themselves both offline and online. Police officials pledged to institutionalise such partnerships for ongoing child‑centric education.
