Police‑Led Campaign Highlights Rights and Protection for Girls
The Gautam Buddha Nagar Police Commission launched the sixth edition of the Mission Shakti campaign, focusing on the safety and empowerment of girls. A crowd of around 500 young participants gathered at Rajkiya Balika Inter College in Hoshiarpur, Sector‑51, and embarked on a symbolic foot march through Noida.
Under the leadership of Commissioner Lakshmi Singh and additional commissioner Suniti, the rally disseminated key messages about legal entitlements, health, sanitation and the variety of state‑run welfare schemes available to women and children. Representatives from education, health, sanitation and community groups actively engaged with the crowd, answering queries and distributing informational pamphlets.
Special police units, including the Mission Shakti task force, Self‑Defence trainers and an Anti‑Romio team, showcased safety tools and shared contact numbers for immediate assistance. Organisers also highlighted the importance of civic participation in reporting harassment and ensuring a secure environment for all.
The initiative, aligned with Navaratri celebrations, underlined that women’s safety is not solely a police duty but a shared societal obligation. Community members were urged to adopt respectful behavior and to prioritize women’s dignity in everyday interactions.
