Police launch probe across Gujarat after deadly fake alcohol incident

Following the fatal poisoning case in Bhavnagar, Gujarat's Director General of Police directed a wide‑scale investigation covering every police jurisdiction in the state. The operation aims to uncover the full network behind the illicit liquor trade that led to four deaths and eighteen hospitalizations. Two of the critically ill patients are on ventilators, while four are in ICU. The police have set up sixteen dedicated teams to track the supply route, and additional resources have been mobilized from Ahmedabad's rural police department.
