Police Register FIR After Brutal Home Killing in Halagorta, Bidar

The Bidar police have opened an investigation after a 35‑year‑old woman was killed inside her house in the village of Halagorta, Bhalki taluk. According to the complaint lodged by relatives, seven men from an opposing family entered the home illegally around 8 a.m. on Saturday.

The lead suspect allegedly used an axe to strike the victim on the head, causing lethal injuries. The remaining six participants are accused of encouraging the assault. Neighbours responded to the victim’s cries and transported her to a government medical facility, where she was declared dead.

The FIR, numbered 66/2026, lists multiple IPC sections, charging the seven accused with murder and ancillary crimes. Police have begun forensic examinations and are interrogating witnesses to build a case for prosecution.
