Police Detain Self‑Proclaimed Maharaj and Two Aides Over Alleged Sexual Assault

Chandrapur police chief Ishwar Katakde disclosed that the main suspect, Shubham Latari Khengar, who presented himself as a Maharaj from a local temple, was arrested alongside his two assistants, Sachin Modak and Tejas Vakathe. The trio allegedly used a fabricated astrological remedy to gain entry to a house in Bisi's Bhisi police jurisdiction. After sending the victim's husband out under the guise of collecting puja items, Khengar is accused of committing sexual violence against the woman. The case has been registered under IPC sections 64(1), 351(3) and 3(5) and is being investigated by Inspector Mangesh Bogle.
