Police Response Delayed as BJP Mob Allegedly Ransacks TMC Leader's Office

Mahua Moitra alleged that a coordinated mob, which she linked to the BJP, entered the office of TMC general secretary Abhishek Banerjee at around 4 a.m. on September 3. The intruders reportedly confiscated a guard’s mobile device, threatened staff with an iron rod and proceeded to smash furniture, break open cabinets and damage computers. Video evidence presented by Moitra shows attempts to dismantle CCTV cameras, though some remained functional.

Moitra criticized the police for failing to answer any of the emergency calls made by her team. The police reportedly arrived at the site at 6 a.m., after the assailants had left. Six suspects have been apprehended, and the police have sealed off the entire premises pending further investigation.
