Police Accused of Laxity as Money Mishandling Uncovered at Ram Temple
In a sharp statement to the media, Faizabad Bar Association President Kalika Prasad Mishra accused the local police of negligence after a cash mishandling episode emerged at Ayodhya’s Ram Temple. Mishra said that the presence of a “robust security framework” should have prevented any large‑scale irregularities, and its breach reflects a lapse in police vigilance.
He demanded both a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry and an Enforcement Directorate (ED) probe, insisting that the latter is essential given the “substantial sum of money” involved.
Mishra warned that the police’s refusal to register a new FIR would compel the bar association to keep exposing any suspected misconduct. He stressed that the upcoming FIR will be separate from a previous case that involved eight accused, stating, “The earlier FIR has no bearing on the present complaints against different individuals.”
The bar head also questioned the police’s documentation practices, pointing out that cash seized from ten distinct locations was logged as a single entry, a discrepancy he described as “a clear subject for investigation.”
