Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow following the passing of advertising luminary Piyush Pandey, who died early Friday at the age of 70. The Prime Minister fondly recalled his interactions with Pandey, highlighting his ‘monumental contribution’ to the advertising and communications industry. In a heartfelt post on X, PM Modi lauded Pandey for his immense creativity and stated that he would always be admired for his innovative approach.
‘Shri Piyush Pandey Ji was admired for his creativity. He made a monumental contribution to the world of advertising and communications,’ PM Modi shared. ‘I will fondly cherish our interactions over the years. Saddened by his passing away. My thoughts are with his family and admirers. Om Shanti.’
Piyush Pandey, a distinguished figure in Indian advertising, was recognized with the Padma Shri and the LIA Legend Award. His sister, Ila Arun, confirmed his death, noting he had been unwell for some time. Reports indicate his final rites will be conducted at Shivaji Park in Mumbai.
Pandey is widely credited with revolutionizing India’s advertising landscape. He was instrumental in crafting numerous successful campaigns, notably including the iconic ‘Abki baar Modi Sarkar’ slogan for Prime Minister Modi’s 2014 Lok Sabha election campaign, which significantly boosted his political profile.
