Netas React to PM Modi's Mann Ki Baat: Monthly Wait Continues

The 139th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat' brought a wave of reactions from leaders after it was broadcast on Sunday. The address, delivered to citizens from New Delhi on October 25, once again highlighted the national conversation on self-reliance, health, heritage and community participation.

BJP leader Sanjay Bhatia linked the Prime Minister's message to the government's push for local manufacturing. He stated that Vocal for Local and Make in India have been consistent themes since Modi took charge. Bhatia added that India is now exporting weapons to countries that earlier supplied the nation with arms and war material.

Vijay Kumar Sinha, a minister in the Bihar government, praised the episode for connecting people with their roots and with inspiring individuals who devote themselves to society. He mentioned discussions on promoting millets as 'Shri Anna', closeness to nature and healthy living. According to Sinha, the Prime Minister's words reach every child of Mother India and keep people eager for the next edition.

Bansuri Swaraj, a BJP MP, shared that she joined Union Minister of State Pavitra Margherita, local party workers and residents of the Patel Nagar assembly constituency to hear the 139th episode together. She said the programme reflects the collective strength of Indian citizens and has a visible impact on the ground. Swaraj noted the Prime Minister's mention that khadi product sales exceeded Rs 28 crore in a single day on Gandhi Jayanti.

Sanjay Sarawgi, president of the Bihar BJP, said the episode was listened to across the country and abroad. He observed that the programme's themes continue to motivate people to try new ideas. Sarawgi pointed to examples the Prime Minister shared, such as women handloom weavers in Punjab becoming self-reliant, and makhana farmers from Mithila and Bihar entering foreign markets through proper packaging. He also referred to the remarks on millets, cleanliness, the upcoming Valmiki Jayanti, festival greetings and Nishad Raj.

Virendra Sachdeva, another BJP leader, said the Prime Minister had described Mann Ki Baat as a festival honouring the collective power of the people. He credited the episode with offering new subjects and information for learning. Sachdeva also cited the e-Sanjeevani initiative, which he said is extending healthcare support to places such as the Andaman Islands, Ladakh and Lakshadweep.
