How PM Awas Urban 2.0 Changed Lives of Jamnagar Residents

Jamnagar, October 29: Residents of Jamnagar in Gujarat say the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0 has transformed their lives by helping them move from unsafe, leaking houses into permanent homes. Beneficiaries describe the scheme as a source of security, happiness and new possibilities for their families.

PM Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0 extends financial support to eligible economically weaker urban families so they can build their own pucca homes. The initiative is designed to make the dream of a home a reality, offer safe accommodation and enhance the overall quality of life.

In Mohan Nagar, close to Gulab Nagar, Rajendrabhai lived in a house that was in a state of disrepair. During the rainy season, water would seep inside, and the family struggled to cope. After hearing about the Prime Minister's housing scheme, he received financial assistance that allowed him to build a permanent house. He said the new home has brought joy to his family and improved their living standards.

In conversation with reporters, Rajendrabhai said the earlier house had deteriorated badly and the monsoon brought great difficulties. His financial position was also weak. Under the scheme, he obtained a loan of four lakh rupees, which made it possible to construct a pucca house. He said he could never have built such a house on his own. He also said that for 25 years he has availed various schemes under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, including during Modi's time as Gujarat Chief Minister and after he became Prime Minister. He thanked the Prime Minister and expressed the hope that the scheme would reach every needy person.

Rajendrabhai's wife, Mayuri, said the family's earlier home was a kutcha house. When they learned about the scheme, they availed its benefits. She praised Prime Minister Modi's efforts and said the pucca house has fulfilled a long-held dream. She added that the family had never imagined they could build such a good home.

Manishbhai Hiralal Solanki, who also lives in Mohan Nagar, once delivered milk door to door to support his family. Using the scheme, he constructed a permanent home and then expanded his livelihood. Today he runs his own dairy shop, where customers come to buy milk, and he is progressing towards self-reliance.

Manishbhai said he had received the benefits of the Prime Minister's scheme. In the earlier kutcha house, his young children faced many problems, and water often entered the home. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the initiative.

Mamta Solanki said her family has always received government schemes and assistance. Her previous house was very small, and the family's finances were under strain. After learning about the scheme, she availed it and built a good house. Her family is now living in a much better condition. She too thanked Prime Minister Modi.

For the residents of Jamnagar, the scheme has meant more than building a house. It has brought a sense of respect, safety and hope for a better future. Their stories show how housing assistance can create positive change for economically weaker families.
