Piush Hazariqa Calls for Congress to Explain Kaziranga Conservation Stance

In a candid briefing to the press in Diphu, Piush Hazariqa, who oversees agriculture and the Karbi Anglong region, accused the Congress of having "killed" rhinos and "ruined" Kaziranga, only to later demand its protection.

He stressed that the party must provide a clear account of its environmental policy failures and demonstrate an understanding of critical concepts such as Eco‑Sensitive Zones versus Economic‑Sensitive Zones. Hazariqa also asked the Congress to detail any planned campaign or protest related to Kaziranga's future.

The minister’s comments formed part of a broader review session with senior officials from multiple departments, focusing on agricultural progress and the implementation of loan initiatives for local farmers.
