Pilibhit Case Triggers Statewide ECINET Login Deactivation in UP

Lucknow, October 31: A complaint about improper use of an ECINET portal login in Pilibhit has prompted a statewide response from the Uttar Pradesh Election Department. The department has decided to deactivate access for computer assistants working in ERO offices in all districts.

According to instructions issued by Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa, these login IDs must be disabled at once, with effect from the date of the order.

In addition, the firm that deployed the outsourced computer assistant linked to the Pilibhit case has been directed to terminate the person's services immediately. The case concerns Assembly Constituency 127 Pilibhit.

District Election Officers have been told to direct all EROs in their districts to take urgent action. Login IDs linked to the ECINET portal for operators at voter registration centres in every assembly constituency will be deactivated, so that no activity can be carried out through them.

After deactivation, EROs must provide confirmation to the concerned authorities. District Election Officers will personally verify the work done in all assembly constituencies and deliver a compliance report to the Chief Electoral Officer's office without delay.

The Chief Electoral Officer has emphasised that maintaining integrity, security and transparency in voter list activities is the department's highest priority. Directions must be carried out urgently and on a priority basis, and no negligence or inaction will be tolerated at any level.
