Pilgrimage boost: CM promotes historic Shiv-Parvati wedding site
In a move aimed at strengthening religious tourism, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami used his X account on July 5 to promote the historic Triyuginarayan Temple.
He highlighted the temple’s mythic importance as the venue of Lord Shiva’s marriage to Goddess Parvati, describing it as a sacred crossroads of legend and devotion.
Dhami’s message encouraged travelers and devotees to include the temple in their itineraries, pointing out that the surrounding Himalayan landscape adds a layer of peaceful isolation conducive to spiritual reflection.
The temple’s perpetual Akhand Dhuni flame is believed to be the witness of the divine nuptials, a detail that makes it a focal point for Hindu worshippers across the country.
Annual footfall continues to rise, with many couples choosing the site for their own marriage ceremonies, underscoring the temple’s dual role as a pilgrimage destination and a cultural symbol of Uttarakhand’s ancient traditions.
