Perambalur Trichy-Chennai Road Accident Kills Three, Injures Four

A serious road mishap on the Trichy‑Chennai highway (NH‑38) near Perambalur resulted in three deaths and four serious injuries. The collision happened at the Thureimangalam junction when a fast‑moving car slammed into the back of a bus.

The travelers were returning from a wedding ceremony held in Chennai. Karthi, a 38‑year‑old resident of Orivyal village in Mudukulathur district, was accompanied by his wife Surya and two friends. After the ceremony, the group set off in a private car to head back home.

Near the Thureimangalam area, the car’s driver lost control of speed and crashed into the bus’s rear. Bystanders immediately began rescuing the victims and alerted the nearby police station.

Perambalur police arrived, transported the injured to the district government hospital, and began documenting the incident. The car’s driver Kaja (also known as Kalishwaran) and passenger Prabhakaran died on the spot. Karthi’s injuries proved fatal while he was under medical care.

Surya, along with driver Kannadasan, John Kennedy and Sarnya, were admitted with serious injuries. Because of her critical state, Surya was later moved to a major hospital in Tiruchirappalli for advanced treatment.

The authorities have secured the deceased bodies for autopsy, lodged a formal FIR, and are questioning the bus driver from Thuthukudi to piece together the cause of the accident.

This tragic event serves as a reminder of the dangers posed by high speeds on India’s national roads and the need for vigilant enforcement of traffic regulations.
