Patriotic Fervor Sweeps Kashipur as Historic Flagpole Is Hoisted

Kashipur joined the nation’s Independence Day celebrations with a spectacular flag‑hoisting ceremony on August 15. Officials from the Bharatiya Janata Party, the police and municipal authorities participated in flag‑raising at multiple locations, including the district office and the SP’s residence.

The highlight was the unveiling of a towering 135‑foot tricolour at Ali Khan Chowk, inaugurated by Mayor Deepak Bali in the presence of ministers, councilors and community leaders. The towering flag turned the neighbourhood into a vibrant patriotic arena.

The day also honoured the families of soldiers who fell in the Kargil war and those of the original freedom fighters. Schoolchildren performed marching bands, folk dances and recitations that stirred a strong sense of national pride among the audience.

The celebrations concluded with a rally that moved through the city’s main market, accompanied by drums, trumpets and slogans echoing the spirit of a free India.
