Multiple pedestrians crushed as reckless driver flees in Patna

In the early hours of October 19, a Scorpio traveling at excessive speed brushed aside a group of walkers on a busy Patna street. The driver, reportedly attempting to evade responsibility, continued forward, striking additional by‑standers.

The sudden loss of control caused the vehicle to flip and land about 80 metres from the point of impact. The crash also involved a motorcyclist who could not avoid the overturned car.

Authorities confirm that six people suffered injuries, with three victims categorized as serious. First responders stabilized the victims on the spot before moving them to private hospitals for further care.

The Patliputra police station has launched a case to identify the driver, examine possible traffic violations, and determine whether any negligence contributed to the incident.
