Patna Flood Sub‑division Tragedy: NTPC Workers Found Dead Amid Party

In the flood‑prone outskirts of Patna, four young men employed by the National Thermal Power Corporation met a tragic end on Sunday. The quartet – Vikas, Shashi, Pankaj and Rishu – were celebrating together in Saidpur, Bedhna village, when they reportedly ingested a suspect alcoholic brew.

Sources from the village say the gathering featured a meal of fish, roti and rice accompanied by a locally prepared liquor. Within minutes of drinking, the participants experienced severe discomfort, lost consciousness and required urgent medical assistance.

Paramedics transported the victims to the Flood Sub‑division Hospital, where physicians noted “critical” vital signs. The patients were then shifted to a larger facility in Patna for intensive care, but they died en route.

Medical officer Dr. Shreya Shekhar confirmed that the four were in a fragile condition when handed over to the ambulance crew. The police have seized the remaining liquor bottles for laboratory testing and have filed a case of suspicious death.

The investigation remains ongoing, with the forensic team expected to release post‑mortem findings in the coming days. Until then, officials advise the public to exercise caution with homemade alcohol and to report any similar incidents immediately.
