Patna’s 71st Ramleela Festival Plans Massive Statues, Tight Security

The 71st edition of the Shri Ram‑leela Mahotsav in Patna is set to feature the city’s largest ever effigies. In addition to the 90‑foot Ravana, an 85‑foot Meghanath and an 80‑foot Kumbhakarna will be erected, each crafted with steel reinforcement to withstand potential weather challenges.

The festival committee secured approvals for the presence of senior dignitaries, including the state governor, chief minister, and other ministers. Chairman Arun Kumar emphasized that the event transcends a mere religious ritual, embodying cultural continuity, family traditions, and community spirit that have been nurtured for over six decades.
