Patliputra Station Sees Unity Day Train Send-Off for Gujarat Trip

Patna, October 28: A special train with 1,100 passengers from Bihar's 22 Naxal-free districts left Patliputra station for Gujarat on Tuesday. Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary showed the green signal to mark the departure on the occasion of National Unity Day 2026.

The destination of the train is Ekta Nagar, Gujarat. The Bihar government has organised the trip as a special initiative linked to the national observance.

The key objective of the journey is to build awareness about national unity, integrity and the country's shared heritage. By bringing passengers together for this trip, the initiative seeks to spread the message of unity in India's diversity.

The 1,100 passengers on board come from all 22 Naxal-free districts of Bihar. The station witnessed a special event to commemorate the start of the journey.

Ekta Nagar is known for the Statue of Unity, dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a symbol of the nation's unity and integrity. Those reaching the site will be able to learn about India's historical legacy and the value of national unity.

The Chief Minister did not answer questions from journalists about the event after the train was sent off. He folded his hands and proceeded forward without comment.

National Unity Day is celebrated every year on October 31. The day was first commemorated in 2014.
