Passengers Praise Night Train Safety Measures at Upgraded Ambasamudram Hub
The recent revamp of Ambasamudram railway station has drawn particular commendation for its night‑time safety provisions. Women traveling after sunset reported feeling more secure thanks to brighter platform lights, CCTV cameras and a designated women’s assistance desk. The station now accommodates night trains, including services arriving from Kollam, which halt between 4:20 am and 11:10 pm. Local residents said the improvements will encourage more female commuters to use rail services for work and education trips to Tirunelveli and Tiruchendrum. A senior passenger remarked that the station’s modern amenities, combined with the Prime Minister’s dedication, represent a significant step forward for public transport in the region.
