Party Unity Emphasized Amid Speculation of Leadership Clash

Srinagar, August 31 – In a recent interview, Javed Ahmad Dar, a senior figure in Jammu and Kashmir's ruling National Conference, stressed that the party remains united despite circulating speculation about a leadership showdown. He characterized the alleged rift as a "TRP‑driven" narrative, insisting that none of the party’s senior leaders feel disenfranchised.

Dar reminded listeners of the 2012 incident where eight ministers were delegated to oversee various party functions, a move that was largely embraced by the ranks, save for a few officials from the Jammu region. He added that any decision taken by the NC leadership will be honoured by its members. While Dar paints a picture of collective strength, former minister Agha Sayyid Ruhullah Mehdi has publicly accused the NC of neglecting its promises to the public and using the demand for statehood as a cover to permanently shelve debates on Articles 370 and 35A.
