Party Leader Warns of Large‑Scale Protest if Urban Plans Not Approved

During a 31‑hour fast organized at a key Bhopal intersection, Congress leaders reiterated their call for a master plan governing the city’s growth. Jitu Patwari, the state party chief, warned that a three‑month deadline will be set for the government to present the Bhopal and Indore master plans. Failure to meet this timeline will lead to a march involving fifty thousand party workers.

The fast was joined by former ministers and local representatives who highlighted the disorderly expansion of the twin cities. Patwari appealed to the urban development minister, the chief secretary and the chief minister, insisting that the plans are essential for orderly infrastructure, business stability and citizen welfare. He added that the march will also serve as a platform to challenge corruption and unplanned projects across Madhya Pradesh.
