The Samajwadi Party’s top leadership acted swiftly after a video of the district president being slapped during a meeting went public. National Working Committee member Arvind Kumar Singh circulated an official office memorandum that removed Bharat Bhushan Sharma of Sarai Azamabad and Raghavendra Singh of Asgarpur from the party. The memo was also shared with the national general secretary, the Mathura district president, and the party president’s private secretary, emphasizing the seriousness of the breach.
