Parliamentarians Demand Prompt Implementation of Women Reservation Act

Another point of contention centered on the Women’s Reservation Bill, which, according to MP Avadhesh Prasad, has already received unanimous support in Parliament.

Despite the clear consensus, the opposition accuses the administration of delaying the law’s enforcement and attempting to shift responsibility onto the opposition. Prasad urged the government to act swiftly so that women can benefit from the mandated political representation without further procrastination.

He emphasized that any postponement undermines the spirit of gender equality enshrined in the Constitution and hampers the democratic process.
