Parents and Students Demand Retention of Headmaster in Kandi School

The controversy over the transfer of acting principal Malay Kumar Singh has drawn the attention of both parents and students at Plus Two High School in Kandi, Garhwa. The headmaster, who joined the school two months ago, was credited with improving academic performance and discipline.

Around two thousand students are enrolled at the institution, yet the school reportedly suffers from a shortage of seventeen teaching staff across various subjects. Participants in the protest argue that moving the headmaster would further destabilise the already strained educational environment.

Demonstrators have called for the administration to rescind the transfer and keep Singh at the Kandi campus. They also demanded an inquiry into allegations that a block official slapped a student during an earlier attempt to calm the crowd.
