Paras blames BJP for deflecting responsibility over temple donations controversy

Manoj Kumar Paras accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party of trying to shift blame onto opposition parties as allegations of irregularities in temple donations and "chadhava" (offering) schemes surface.

He noted that social media platforms are awash with discussions about alleged misuse of funds, yet the BJP continues to allege that the Samajwadi Party is attempting to evade its own duties. Paras countered that the BJP’s narrative is an effort to dodge accountability for the administration’s handling of the situation.

The MLA also raised concerns about the Special Investigation Team (SIT) process. He explained that under normal legal procedure a First Information Report (FIR) is filed first, followed by the formation of an investigative body. In this case, however, the SIT was set up before any FIR was recorded, suggesting that the government is manipulating procedural norms to its advantage.

Paras urged the authorities to adhere strictly to constitutional and legal protocols, ensuring that any inquiry is transparent, impartial, and free from political interference.
