Pappu Yadav Says BJP Will Face the Same Fate as Past Rulers
New Delhi, November 1: Independent MP Pappu Yadav has delivered a scathing critique of the Central government, arguing that the BJP stands against the country's civilization, its democratic institutions and its middle class. He compared the party with past invaders and rulers, suggesting that it too could face removal.
In his remarks, Yadav said the Mughals had attacked India's civilization and culture, and the British had attacked its minerals and social structure. He asked whether those forces had gone, and whether Ravana, Yazid and Kans had also disappeared. He said India was the land of the Buddha, Shiva, Krishna, Prophet Muhammad, Guru Gobind Singh, Savitribai Phule, Kabir, Bhagat Singh, Subhas Bose, Chandrashekhar Azad, Gandhi and Nehru, and that it was a land of sacrifice.
Yadav charged that the BJP had already burned the Constitution when attacks on democracy and the Constitution took place. He called its members followers of Manusmriti and the greatest enemies of humanity. He also claimed that temple offerings had been stolen, and said earlier invaders had only broken things and left, while the present leadership was stealing from temples that Indians had built.
Referring to the removal of names during the SIR exercise, he asked where 13 crore people belonged and whether 14 crore people were from another country. He argued that the government could not answer Elon Musk or Trump, nor respond to China's attack.
He praised Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi for their continuous efforts, including a 10,000-kilometre march to protect the Constitution. Yadav said Rahul Gandhi had walked from Manipur to Goa and had protested in support of the daughters of Manipur and Ankita Bhandari. He questioned whether the BJP had no shame and asked whom it would respond to if it could not answer Elon Musk.
Yadav turned to economic policies, saying demonetisation had caused losses for traders, farmers and women, while GST had affected businesses across the board. He also asked what had happened to the paper leak cases and pointed to the rupee's fall since 2012, the rise of diesel and petrol to Rs 110, and the dollar's value of 210, 215 and 220 rupees.
He accused the BJP of stealing votes, denying opposition leaders a chance to speak in Parliament and attacking women and protesters, including with gunfire. He recalled the loss of Rahul Gandhi's residence and membership and alleged attempts to get him convicted.
Asked what options remained apart from the people, Yadav said that with the Mughals, the British, Hitler, Mussolini, Genghis Khan, Ravana, Yazid and Kans gone, the ruling party would also have nowhere to go. He said traders were angry and that the party's national president had recently protested on the streets in their support. He concluded that GST had destroyed traders, demonetisation had caused losses, and the party was also an enemy of the middle class.
