Pandey Stresses Cow Protection Policies Under Yogi’s Government

Lucknow, July 9 – In a statement to IANS, Cabinet Minister Manoj Pandey responded to questions on the SIT probe and the status of cow protection in Uttar Pradesh. He praised the reverence that more than one hundred crore Indians hold for the cow, describing the animal as a mother figure in Indian society.

Pandey asserted that no previous government dared to harm the sacred status of cows, and that the current administration under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will not allow any infringement on this devotion. He said that the cow remains untouchable to those who might consider cutting its protection.

Linking the discussion back to the meeting between Akhilesh Yadav and Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, Pandey reiterated that meeting religious leaders is a time‑honoured practice that reinforces cultural values. He warned against using religious sentiment as a political weapon, as some groups are doing by invoking Lord Rama while attempting to damage the core of Sanatan Dharma.

The minister finished by emphasizing that India’s democratic framework permits every citizen to envision a better future, and that the electorate should decide on civic issues such as roads, colonies and housing, rather than being swayed by caste‑based provocations.
