A horrifying case of domestic violence has emerged from rural Jharkhand where a father allegedly used an axe to murder his teenage daughter because of her suspected love affair. The incident occurred in Lohra village under Lesliganj police limits in Palamu district and has left the community deeply disturbed. Residents say August Kumar had been seething with anger ever since he caught his daughter Anjali talking to a boy on her phone. The discovery of certain photographs on the device only intensified his fury. Viewing the relationship as an affront to family prestige, he reportedly decided to take matters into his own hands. On Sunday night, while the rest of the household was asleep, the accused entered Anjali’s room and launched a frenzied attack. She died instantly from the multiple wounds. Her mother and brother, who were in the house, could only watch helplessly as the tragedy unfolded. The killer escaped into the night and remains at large. By Monday morning the entire village had gathered outside the victim’s home, stunned by the brutality. Police teams led by SHO Uttam Kumar Ray arrived promptly, secured the scene, and sent the body for post-mortem. Officers are now questioning relatives and locals while conducting searches to locate the fugitive father. The case has sparked widespread anger and fear in the region. Authorities have assured residents that every effort is being made to apprehend the accused and uncover the full facts behind this tragic killing.
