Gulshan Pahuja’s Contempt Conviction Remains; Appeal to High Court Needed

The Supreme Court clarified that it is not presently examining the merits of the case. It reminded that Pahuja has already been convicted of criminal contempt under the Contempt of Courts Act and has surrendered to serve his term. The court rejected any immediate stay of the sentence, stating that the Delhi High Court had earlier entertained a request for suspension, which was later dismissed after the petitioner voluntarily surrendered.
