Padma Shri Recipients Call for ‘Water is Life, Water is Tomorrow’ in Gujarat

Padma Shri awardees, including Seth Pal Singh, Bharat Bhushan Tyagi and lawyer Mahesh Goyal, delivered powerful messages under the theme “Water is Life, Water is Tomorrow.” Singh highlighted the need to harvest rainwater, build small dams and strengthen field bunds to retain runoff. Tyagi spoke about the necessity of a national water policy and a shift in mindset toward sustainable resource management. Goyal, who has authored a book on water conservation, urged the audience to eliminate wastage by fixing leaky taps and to prioritize rainwater harvesting as a simple yet effective solution.
