Outrage Over Remarks on PM Modi's Father, Says Ram Kadam
New Delhi, October 31: Maharashtra BJP legislator Ram Kadam has said that remarks targeting PM Narendra Modi's father have triggered widespread anger across the country. He accused Rahul Gandhi and the opposition of pursuing a deceitful plan that has now backfired on them.
Kadam said the opposition made the PM's father a subject of political debate, and the entire nation has reacted strongly. He added that the message emerging from the public is unmistakable: Modi is not going anywhere.
In his statement, Kadam said Rahul Gandhi and the opposition had cast a calculated bet with a conspiratorial mindset. He claimed that the move has come back on them, as citizens increasingly see it as an attack on a leader who has dedicated his life to public service.
Kadam stressed that the Constitution is not the exclusive possession of any political party. He pointed to Home Minister Amit Shah's remark that the government is ready for a special session of Parliament if needed. He asked the opposition to bring a clear example or proof to back its claims, questioning whether they lacked the courage or the material to do so.
He further said that voters are no longer willing to accept everything they hear from opposition leaders. According to Kadam, people recognise when a narrative is built on falsehoods, and such confusion cannot last indefinitely.
Speaking about governance, Kadam said 25 crore people have risen above the poverty line and that road construction has reached every corner of the country, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. He also said that more than 35 countries have conferred their highest honours on PM Modi, which he described as a tribute to 146 crore Indians. India, he noted, has moved from the 11th to the 4th largest economy and is expected to soon become the third largest.
Kadam also commented on the INDIA bloc rally planned for November 1. He said Rahul Gandhi is free to organise rallies or push a political campaign for impeachment, but cannot undermine the Constitution. He cited Article 124(5) and said impeachment is a serious process that should not be turned into a street spectacle.
Turning to history, Kadam said the Congress of that time had supported Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He asked when and why that position changed, and who was given leadership afterward. He said the BJP has taken pride in honouring Patel's courage, leadership and service, and questioned where Congress displays Patel's statue at its events.
Kadam said that without Sardar Patel, the country might still be fragmented, since Patel was instrumental in bringing the nation together. He argued that such a figure deserves respect from everyone, not just one party, and asked why Congress hesitates to honour him. He ended by asking whether Rahul Gandhi would respond.
