Optional Transfer Policy Clarified for Bihar Teachers

Bihar's Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari provided clarification on the recently launched optional transfer scheme for state teachers. Under the new rule, eligible educators can select up to 30 preferred transfer options, offering greater flexibility in career moves.

However, the minister noted that several senior teachers, whose service is set to end in just two years, voiced concerns about being compelled to relocate. In response, an advisory was issued stating that teachers with only two years remaining will not be forced to accept a transfer.

Tiwari assured that any teacher wishing to move within the two‑year window may do so voluntarily, while those preferring to stay will have their choice respected. The clarification aims to balance administrative needs with the personal circumstances of veteran educators.
