Opposition's 'Sadak Par Sansad' Drive Draws BJP, JD(U) Fire

Patna, October 31: The war of words over the proposed 'Sadak Par Sansad' programme and rally of the INDIA bloc has grown louder in Bihar. BJP national spokesperson Guru Prakash has targeted the opposition alliance, calling its movement baseless and illogical. JD(U) MLC Neeraj Kumar has also questioned the political unity of the INDIA bloc. Both leaders accused the opposition of attacking constitutional institutions and spreading political instability.

Responding to the INDI alliance's 'Sadak Par Sansad' event, Guru Prakash said it was not a mock parliament but a joke played on democracy. He alleged that a baseless agitation was being built on falsehoods. He pointed out that the Supreme Court had made its stance clear on this matter on several occasions and that its Constitution Bench had declared it fully constitutional. He said that a false, baseless and irrational movement had no purpose.

The BJP spokesperson also hit out at the opposition over the proposed rally. According to him, there was neither coordination nor cooperation within the alliance. He said the situation was the result of the obstinacy of Rahul Gandhi and the INDI alliance.

Guru Prakash also spoke about the historical episodes linked to the Sikh community in connection with the rally's date. He said November 1 is historically a sensitive day, and urged people to remember the incidents involving Sikh women and others in Delhi on that date. He charged that the insistence on holding programmes repeatedly on this date, ignoring its historical sensitivity, revealed the opposition's insensitivity.

He reacted strongly to a question about YouTuber Dhruv Rathee's support for the INDIA bloc's rally. Naming Dhruv Rathee, Neha Bora and others, he said people should understand who they are and what they believe in.

Referring to a statement by Neha Bora, he said her presence on the INDI alliance rally stage would raise questions about the alliance's commitment to the Constitution. He further alleged that Sharjeel Imam had often described the Indian Constitution as a fascist document. Prakash said the opposition needed to explain its position on backing such individuals. He added that doubts were natural about the INDIA bloc's faith and loyalty towards the Constitution framed by Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar.

JD(U) MLC Neeraj Kumar questioned the political activity and unity of the INDI alliance, saying that it was not hidden from anyone how active it was politically. Recalling the recent West Bengal elections, he asked where the INDIA bloc had been seen there.

Neeraj Kumar said the opposition was organising a mock parliament instead of working in Parliament, even though people had elected their representatives to work there. He noted that the Union Home Minister was talking about calling a special session of Parliament with the opposition's agreement. He said the opposition should therefore make clear what it actually wants. He accused the opposition of trying to create political anarchy in the country and of attacking constitutional institutions.

Neeraj Kumar also recalled Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. He said a competition had been organised in Sardar Patel's honour by the JD(U)'s art and culture cell. He said Patel had played a major role in unifying the nation by integrating princely states, building the administrative framework and fostering social harmony. He expressed respect for both leaders and remembered their contributions.
