Opposition parties react to Samajwadi Party’s new blue dress code

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accused the Samajwadi Party of changing colours like a chameleon. Udai Vir Singh retorted that BJP leaders are uncomfortable with the blue because it reminds them of the suppressed and marginalized sections championed by Ambedkar’s philosophy. He added that the BJP’s objection to the uniform’s colour reveals a deeper aversion to social justice, rule of law and constitutional values. Meanwhile, Congress spokesperson Surendra Rajput defended the right of any political formation to adopt its own uniform, questioning why the BJP and BSP feel threatened by a blue shirt.
