Opposition Accused of Ignoring Evidence While Demanding EVM Probe

Patna, October 8 – Mr. Mrityunjay Tiwari of the BJP criticized the opposition for demanding an investigation into electronic voting machines without furnishing any proof of malpractice. He said the RJD‑Congress coalition, which lost the recent assembly election, is now questioning the Election Commission and the integrity of the EVMs, a move he described as opportunistic.

Tiwari highlighted that the opposition’s claim of vote theft lacks any supporting documents or eyewitness accounts. He asked why the alleged victims have not approached the commission with tangible evidence, noting that a legitimate grievance would have been raised immediately after the polls.

The BJP leader also pointed out that Tejashwi Yadav’s camp secured 25 legislative seats, a figure that the opposition should clarify rather than use as a pretext for street demonstrations. Tiwari urged the opposition to abandon protest rallies and instead engage with citizens to rebuild the trust that was lost during the campaign.

He praised the state’s “double‑engine” administration under Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary for its focus on development and prosperity. Tiwari also referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25‑year milestone in public service, emphasizing the NDA’s resolve to uphold democratic institutions and deliver on promises to the people of Bihar.
