Opposition calls Yogi's tablet distribution a pre‑election stunt

Congress spokesperson Surendra Rajput accused the Yogi Adityanath government of turning the 2.5 million tablet package into a "pre‑election stunt" ahead of the 2024 polls. He asserted that the scheme was a thinly veiled attempt to hand out freebies, questioning the timing and the lack of a concrete implementation roadmap.

Rajput also criticized the cabinet's approval of free bus travel for senior women, describing it as another token gesture. He urged the ruling party to focus on real employment opportunities, citing the 13 lakh vacant posts in the state that remain unfilled.
