In a pointed rebuttal to opposition protests at the AI Summit, BJP parliamentarian Dinesh Sharma branded Congress and allies as the primary obstacles to India’s economic ascent. During an IANS interview in New Delhi on February 17, he laid bare the opposition’s intolerance for the nation’s success.
Sharma quipped that opposition parties thrive on negativity, ignoring milestones like India’s fourth-place economy ranking. “They’d rather make waves abroad than celebrate homegrown achievements,” he said. He slammed their efforts to provoke farmers against government initiatives aimed at doubling incomes, calling it a direct sabotage of development goals.
Turning to Congress infighting, Sharma cited Mani Shankar Aiyar as the latest voice of dissent, following Tharoor and Digvijay Singh. This internal chaos, he argued, stems from leadership vacuum and policy rifts, dooming the party. Under Modi, India embraces unity and development for all castes.
On Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, Sharma defended his statements as constitutionally sound, advising against court commentary. He further condemned Congress and TMC’s appeasement race, contrasting BJP’s fair welfare schemes. Rations reach everyone without bias, education receives priority, and BJP rejects divisive Hindu-Muslim binaries for equal justice.
India’s trajectory demands cooperation, not disruption. Sharma’s words underscore BJP’s vision of inclusive growth amid opposition’s roadblocks.
