Opposition Accuses Uttar Pradesh BJP of Corruption and Poor Projects
In Uttar Pradesh, Congress spokesperson Surendra Rajput launched a scathing attack on the state BJP government, labeling its “double‑engine” and “triple‑engine” approaches as failures on the development front. He raised concerns about flooding, potholes on expressways, and escalating construction costs.
Rajput alleged that corruption has reached a peak within the state administration and that common citizens’ grievances are being ignored. He demanded explanations for the inflated budgets of expressway projects and called for transparency in the allocation of resources.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Husain Dalwai in Mumbai expressed a loss of public confidence in the Election Commission, accusing it of operating under government directives. Dalwai also claimed that the current regime is weakening institutions originally established during Jawaharlal Nehru’s tenure.
The Congress demands a multi‑party meeting to discuss delimitation and other pressing issues, urging the central government to engage with opposition voices before any legislative measures are taken.
